Metra trains on the Union Pacific North line have returned to normal service after being stopped Wednesday evening when a pedestrian was fatally struck on the North Side.
Train #337 scheduled to arrive in Highland Park at 5:10 p.m. struck a pedestrian near the Rogers Park station Wednesday evening, according to Metra spokesman Mike Gill.
A man was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He has not be identified as of Wednesday night.
Some trains were delayed as much as 110 minutes, according to Metra's website.
