How's this for a combination for a best seller: men, sports and beer.
In the very first chapter of a book two St. Xavier University professors helped write refers to the three as the "holy trinity."
Jim Walker, the chairman of the university department of communication, and professor of mass communication notes the combination isn't divine, just historical.
"It goes back hundreds of years ago to the start of brewing," Walker, of Chicago's Beverly community, told the SouthtownStar.
Walker is one of three professors who penned a chapter in the book "Sport, Beer, and Gender: Promotional Culture and Contemporary Social Life."
"We've been hardwired for beer," one of the authors said.
