Marathon Runners Learn If They Are Selected to Run in Chicago for 2019

Runners who did not receive their entry through the drawing Tuesday can still sign up through the marathon’s charity program

Runners who entered the Bank of America Chicago Marathon non-guaranteed entry drawing learned Tuesday if they were selected to participate in the 2019 race.

Last year, a record 44,610 marathoners crossed the finish line and a similar field is predicted for the 42nd annual race on Oct. 13, 2019.

“Today marks an exciting day for our 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon runners as they begin their training journey to our finish line,” Carey Pinkowski, Bank of America Chicago Marathon executive race director, said in a statement. “I cannot wait to celebrate their strength, perseverance and individual stories 10 months from now.”

Runners who did not receive their entry through the drawing Tuesday can still sign up through the marathon’s charity program.

Runners who received entry Tuesday will join the list of guaranteed entrants, which includes marathon and Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle legacy finishers, time qualifiers, international tour group participants, charity runners and those who canceled their 2018 entries.
