Man Charged With Fatal 2009 Shooting in Humboldt Park

Willie Parker, 38, was shot on April 22, 2009, according to Cook County medical examiner’s office records

A man in custody for a fatal 2016 shooting was charged with another murder from a decade ago in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

Terran G. Scott, 28, was charged with first-degree murder for a fatal shooting on April 22, 2009, in the 1000 block of North Monticello Avenue, according to Chicago police.

Willie Parker, 38, was shot in that block and pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 6:24 p.m. on April 22, 2009, according to Cook County medical examiner’s office records. He lived in the same neighborhood.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

When the new charge was filed Sept. 24, Scott was already in custody on a murder charge in the 2016 shooting of Tommie Lee Pledge at a Humboldt Park cellphone store. He has been held without bail since his March 2016 arrest.

Scott was scheduled to appear in court on the new murder charge on Tuesday, police said.
