Man Stabbed on CTA Red Line

A man was stabbed during a fight on a Red Line train Monday morning on the South Side. 

Two men, ages 30 and 55, got into an argument about 6:10 a.m. while on a Red Line train near the 47th Street station, according to Chicago Police. 

The older man pulled out a knife and a struggle ensued, police said. 

The 30-year-old suffered two lacerations to his neck and one to the right elbow, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. 

The 55-year-old suffered a minor laceration to his right finger and was taken into custody, police said. Charges were pending Monday morning. 

A police source said the men know each other and may have been under the influence of alcohol.
