Man Stabbed at DePaul University's Loop Campus

Chicago police said the man stabbed was 21 years old and he suffered wounds to his stomach

A man was stabbed during an altercation at DePaul University’s Loop campus Thursday morning, the university said in an alert to students.

According to the alert, two men unaffiliated with the school, were in a verbal altercation just before 11 a.m. while walking down the street at 351 S. State Street. One man pulled out a knife and stabbed the other one before running south on Wabash towards Ida B. Wells, the alert stated.

Chicago police said the man stabbed was 21 years old and he suffered wounds to his stomach. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition was not immediately known.

The alert from DePaul said the suspect was described as a 25-year-old man wearing a blue and red baseball cap, a gray long-sleeved sweatshirt, dark blue shredded jeans and bright red gym shoes.
