A man was shot dead Saturday afternoon on the Far South Side.
Police were investigating a 12:40 p.m. call about shots fired in the 9600 block of South Carpenter Street when officers at the scene found a man dead man there with gunshot wounds, said police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
Mirabelli said the man was likely in his 30s.
No one is in custody, and Area South detectives are investigating.
