Police believe shooting was gang related

A 21 year-old Chicago man was found shot in the torso at the Roosevelt Road “L” station east of State Street Monday evening.

Chicago police said the man was shot around 7 p.m. while on the elevated platform. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition.

Several trains were affected by the investigation: Green and Orange line trains were delayed for about 20 minutes, then bypassed the stop for about an hour.

Officers continue talking to multiple people of interest, but have made no arrests as of Tuesday morning.

They believe the shooting is gang related.
