A 26-year-old man was shot at a popular shopping center in Hoffman Estates Thursday night.
Police say they were called to Rookie’s Sports Bar & Grill in the 4600 block of W. Higgins Road around 10:30 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
Officers arrived to find a man who had been shot laying in the parking lot, authorities said. Rookies Sports Bar & Grill is located in the northwest suburb's Poplar Prairie Stone Crossing shopping center.
The victim, identified only as a McHenry resident, was transported in critical condition to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said.
Further information on what led to the shooting was still unknown.
The Hoffman Police Department said Friday they were in the process of investigating the shooting and no one is in custody.
Early indications showed that the parties involved knew each other and that it was believed to be an isolated incident, police said.
