Man Questioned in Disappearance of Joliet Woman

Ashley Tucker was last seen at a gas station after leaving a party at her father's house

A man is being questioned in connection with the disappearance of a Joliet woman who went missing on her way home from a party.

The suspect was arrested around 9:15 p.m. Sunday for failing to comply with the sex offender registration act and was being questioned in the disappearance of 25-year-old Ashley Tucker, Joliet Police said.

"This is a perfect example of when everyone in the city of Joliet works together of what can be accomplished in a short period of time," Chief Alan Roechner said in a statement. "We will continue in our efforts to find the truth as to what happened to Ashley, and will not stop until we can finally bring this investigation to a successful conclusion."

Police had asked for the public’s help as they search for Tucker, who has been missing for more than a week, though they did not specify what led them to question the man in her disappearance.

Tucker was last seen on Oct. 13 around 11 p.m. in the city, where she purchased a cup of soup at a local restaurant. Her family says she was heading home from a party at her father’s house.

Tucker’s vehicle was found in her driveway, but family members say that her cell phone and keys were missing. Family members also say that her jacket, stained with blood, was found in the backyard, but police have not confirmed those details.

According to authorities, Tucker was last seen wearing a green shirt, blue jeans, and tan boots.

Police say that Tucker weighs approximately 120 pounds, has brown hair, and brown eyes. She has a tattoo with the word “CLEO” on her left wrist and “MONA” on her right wrist.

Tucker’s friends are now offering a $1,000 reward in her disappearance, and her family has been circulating missing person’s posters in the neighborhood where she went missing.

Anyone who comes into contact with Tucker is being asked to call 911 immediately. Those who may have information on her whereabouts should contact Joliet Police Detective Tizoc Landeros at (815) 724-3020.
