Pedestrian Killed in Drunk-Driving Crash

The man driving was charged Monday morning in the incident

A Chicago man was charged Monday morning for allegedly striking and killing a pedestrian.

Jimmy Members, 45, of the 2400 block of West Madison Street was taken into custody and has been charged with aggravated DUI-death, DUI and striking a pedestrian in the roadway, according to police.

The 50-year-old pedestrian from Redmond, Wash., was struck early Saturday morning while crossing Lake Shore Drive at Monroe, police said.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at Northwestern Hospital after he was hit by the vehicle.

Members is expected to appear in Central Bond Court today.
