Thorton's Offers Reward for Robber Who Stabbed Clerk

A 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed inside a Thorton's Gas Station in Streamwood early Saturday morning, officials said.

Police were dispatched to the station located at 2 North Barrington Road in Streamwood, around 4:30 a.m. and discovered the gas station clerk had been stabbed several times in his chest and was bleeding profusely, according to a press release from Streamwood Police.

The man, identified as Anandkumar Jaiswal of the 0-100 block of North Park Boulevard in Streamwood, was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday at the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Thorton's Inc. is offering up to $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the offender.

The offender is  described as a white male, approximately 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall wearing dark clothing, has his hands and face covered and is wearing one white shoe and one dark colored shoe.

Surveillance footage shows the man holding a knife and removing cash from the register.
