An elderly man was killed Friday night in a Humboldt Park hit-and-run collision.
Robert E. Deters, 75, was crossing an intersection near the 1600 block of North Kimball Avenue at about 8 p.m. when he was struck by a car, police said.
The vehicle did not stop.
Deters was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital about an hour later, according to a spokesperson at the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The driver and the vehicle were located in the 4700 block of West Washington Boulevard. The man was in custody early Saturday morning.
The incident came just one day after a 65-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run in west suburban North Riverside.
