A man was critically injured when a vehicle struck him during an early Sunday hit-and-run in the Loop.
Police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian at 4:56 a.m. on the 520 block of South State Street. The vehicle did not stop after the crash, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
