Man Charged in Series of Lincoln Park Burglaries

A Chicago man was charged Sunday after he allegedly robbed four businesses Saturday in a strip mall in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Devalia Brown, 38, allegedly robbed the string of businesses in the 2000 block of North Clybourn Avenue around midnight Saturday, police said.

Police were called to the scene after an alarm went off in a Sprint store in the mall but found several businesses with broken doors and windows.

Brown reportedly fled the scene in a white van but was caught blocks away with stolen merchandise inside the van, police said.

Brown was charged with four counts of burglary and is expected to appear in bond court Sunday afternoon.
