Man Charged in Connection to Series of NW Side Garbage, Dumpster Fires

A man faces five felony counts of arson after he allegedly set garages and dumpsters on fire on the Northwest Side Sunday morning, authorities said.

Thomas Walsh, 23, was arrested shortly after a witness told police Walsh had started about half a dozen fires in the 6100 and 6300 blocks of West Fletcher Street about 5 a.m., police said.

Walsh, of the 3100 block of North Menard Avenue, is expected to appear in bond court on Monday, said police News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss.

A police source said Walsh has “No Regrets” tattooed on his arm.
