Police investigate after a man was bound and beaten to death inside his Portage Park home.

Two attackers bound a man and two women, then beat the man to death inside his home in the Portage Park neighborhood Sunday morning.

The two men had apparently been invited into the apartment in the 4500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, and did not force their way inside, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

While in the apartment, at 1:22 a.m., they bound the 43-year-old man and two women, police said. They then began to beat the man.

Marek Kaczmarczyk, of the 4500 block of Milwaukee Avenue was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The attackers ransacked the apartment and fled. Neither woman was injured, and no one was in custody for the attack early Sunday, police said.

Though a motive for the killing is unclear, the two attackers apparently knew their victim.

Police couldn’t immediately say what may have been taken from the home, or whether a weapon was used.

    Area North detectives are investigating.
