Planning to buy your 2011 Lollapalooza tickets early this year? It doesn't have to be in Chicago.
The festival is expanding its horizons by hosting an international version of show in Santiago, Chile from April 2-3, 2011, four months prior to the one in Chicago set for August 5-7, according to lollapalooza.com.
Santiago was reportedly chosen for its urban setting and easy access to hotels and restaurants, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell told the Tribune that a partnership between he and Sebastian De La Barra, a promoter of Lotus Producciones in Chile, aims to create a "musical foreign exchange."
The artists for both events have yet to be announced.
