A Hoffman Estates man has been charged in the hit-and-run crash that killed two British businessmen in Florida in February 2009.

Ryan LeVin, 35, was arrested Tuesday and brought to the Broward County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving vehicular homicide and failing to remain at the scene of a crash involving death.

He was also charged Wednesday with out-of-state parole violation, relating to a high-speed chase in Illinois that ended with a policeman and two others hurt. .

Authorities say LeVin owns the Porsche involved in the February 2009 crash. His attorney says there is no evidence that shows his client was the driver.

LeVin has said 38-year-old Derek Cook was driving the car. Cook surrendered to authorities on Monday. He's charged with felony counts of accessory after the fact and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

The Hoffman Estates man faces up to 15 years in jail.
