A woman filed a federal lawsuit Friday, claiming she was Tased a dozen times by Des Plaines police officers as she waited in her vehicle at a McDonalds drive thru.
Dayna A. Allen claims that on Nov. 23, 2012 at about 3:30 a.m. she was in her vehicle at a McDonald’s drive thru at 3067 S. Mannheim Road when two Des Plaines police cars pulled up, according to the lawsuit. Four officers then approached and ordered Allen to exit her vehicle.
Allen did not exit her vehicle and officers tried to physically remove her from her car, the suit said. Unable to remove Allen, three officers entered her vehicle and Tased her 12 times, the lawsuit said.
The officers taunted Allen to “keep a hold on the steering wheel during the ongoing Tasing.”
Allen was later removed from her vehicle and taken into custody. She was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, the suit said.
However, all charges against Allen were later dismissed, according to the suit.
Media reports at the time said Allen tried to throw food at a McDonald’s employee from the drive thru.

Allen suffered physical injuries to her head, neck, back and had multiple burn marks as well as scarring to her skin as a result of the Tasing, the suit said.
The suit lists five Des Plaines officers and seeks unspecified damages as well as cost of attorney fees.
Calls made to Des Plaines police were not immediately returned Friday evening.
