LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) _ A suburban Chicago school district where teachers are on strike says there'll be school Monday no matter what.

About 150 Lake Forest teachers have been on strike since last Wednesday. But district officials say school will resume Monday and attendance is mandatory.

They're calling it an ``all-day educational program.'' Administrators and community volunteers will be on hand, but the district didn't elaborate on what exactly the day would entail.

School district spokeswoman Anne Whipple tells The Daily Herald the district wants to do what's best for students.

Pay is among the key issues in contract negotiations. The strike leaves about 1,700 students out of class.
