Kristin Cavallari Opens Up About Marriage to Jay Cutler

The former reality star and now designer says she and her husband make a "conscious effort" to keep their relationship together

Kristin Cavallari knows her marriage to Jay Cutler isn't perfect, and that's OK.

The former reality star and now designer says she and her husband make a "conscious effort" to keep their relationship together, though she noted in a recent interview with Us Weekly that the two haven't been to therapy "in a minute."

"Our relationship isn’t perfect. But we love each other and we work on it and we make a conscious choice to work on the relationship and I think that that’s what you just have to do," she told the publication.

Last year, former Bears quarterback Cutler revealed that he did couples therapy with Cavallari. He said it helped him “start seeing things differently” and “deal with stuff.”

The pair have three children together, 4-year-old Camden, 3-year-old Jaxon and 19-month-old Saylor.

"God, I’ll be the first to admit it — especially with three little kids! It’s hard," Cavallari told Us Weekly. "You have to make time for each other and try to get out of routine here and there. It’s much easier said than done. It really is difficult sometimes. We have a lot of great tools that we learned from therapy and I think that was the most beneficial part. Just learning how to communicate and walking away with some great tools, which we’ll always be able to use."

The family moved from Chicago to Nashville earlier this year following Cutler's released from the Bears.

"Not only we're [sic] all 3 of my babies born [in Chicago], it's where it all began with Jay, it brought me closer to my mom who has become my best friend, I've made some amazing girlfriends, and I've really enjoyed being back here (a lot of people don't know I lived here when I was younger)," she wrote on Instagram.
