A judge has sentenced a northeastern Indiana woman to 10 years in prison for allowing her 3-week-old baby to suck heroin off of her finger.
WPTA-TV reports 22-year-old Shaniquea Nutter of Huntington was sentenced Tuesday. She'll serve six years in prison with four years suspended.
Nutter pleaded guilty last month in Huntington Superior Court to neglect of a dependent and dealing in a narcotic.
Her husband, 32-year-old Jason Nutter of Huntington, faces similar charges. Investigators say he watched the crime happen and did nothing to stop it.
