Indiana Toll Road Accident Causes Massive Delays

The westbound lanes on the Indiana Toll Road near the Michigan border were shut down for hours Tuesday afternoon causing massive delays.

The lanes were closed after Chesterton. Authorities were responding to what appeared to be an accident involving two semi-trailers on the snow-caked stretch of toll road.

Eastbound traffic was backed up from Chesterton all the way to Gary.

Northwest Indiana could see a half-foot of snow in a matter of hours Tuesday as a Winter Weather Advisory takes effect in several counties.

No other information was immediately available on the accident.
