The Scripps National Spelling Bee began Wednesday and there are a number of Illinois spellers in the competition.
This year’s spell-fest will take place from May 24 to May 26 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
More than a dozen students from Illinois will be among the 200-plus contestestants fighting for the title of spelling bee champion.
