Illinois Schools Make List of America's Top Colleges

Two Illinois universities have been named among America’s top 20 colleges for 2015, according to a new report.

Forbes released this year’s list of America’s top colleges, naming 24 Illinois schools to list of 650 colleges.

The top-ranked Illinois schools on the list were Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, which came in at no. 16 and no. 20 respectively.

According to Forbes, colleges were ranked based on retention rates of students and their satisfaction with professors and the overall campus experience, the student to faculty ratio, the number of students who graduate on time, the amount of financial aid granted to students, and the percentage of students who take out loans.

Other top-ranked Illinois schools include the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus, which made the list at no. 68 and Wheaton College, which came in at no. 86.

The best college in America, according to the ranking, was Pomona College in California followed by Williams College in Massachusetts, Stanford University in California, Princeton University in New Jersey and Yale University in Connecticut.
