Illinois Couple Hits $10 Million Lotto Jackpot

An Illinois couple is $10.25 million richer after matching all of the numbers in the Lotto game.

Les and Beth Saal purchased the Quick Pick ticket from a Joliet store while on their way to visit friends.

"I’ve been a regular Lotto player for years. I always thought I would win big someday, but not this big," Les said.

The retired couple lives in Tiskilwa, about 50 miles north of Peoria. They plan to travel the United States with their winnings, starting with Mount Rushmore and the Grand Canyon.

"We're not gonna splurge on a lot of things, we are going to get a couple of new things," Les said.

The couple also plans to invest the money and share it with their three children, along with setting up college funds for their four grandchildren.

The winners decided to take the cash option, which is close to $6 million before taxes.
