Hundreds of Troops to Help with NATO

Hundreds of soldiers will be in Chicago to help during the NATO summits in May.

Nearly 600 soldiers from the Illinois National Guard will be in Chicago during the Nato Summit next month.

The Illinois guardsmen will be expected to move NATO delegations in vehicles between venues, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The dignitaries will be taken in motorcades between hotels and the McCormick Place convention center, the Tribune reports.

Another group of troops will be participating in a drill outside Cook County that same weekend. The Illinois National Guard says these troops will provide help in case any problems arise, according to the Tribune.
