Local Pizzeria's Blackhawks Pizza Becomes Fan Favorite

It’s game day, and there’s no better way to fuel up for the Stanley Cup Final in Chicago than with pizza. But not just any pizza – Blackhawks pizza.

Punky's Pizza and Pasta at 2600 S. Wallace Street in Bridgeport started serving up the popular pizzas on hockey nights last year and, thanks to our Hawks’ run this season, they have no plans of stopping.

For $18.95, fans can call in an order for pick-up or delivery on any day the Blackhawks play and in about an hour get a specialty pie shaped as the team’s logo. Advance pre-orders are also welcome.

The pizza comes uncut for photo ops and the obligatory food selfies.

Although they typically serve up to four, it’s understandable if this is not a pizza you want to share.

Punky’s has been a staple on the city’s South Side since it’s opening in 2002.

“Both my wife and I were born, worked and raised our children in Bridgeport, giving my family a long rich history in the neighborhood.” Hawks fan Vincent Scarlata writes on the restaurant’s website. “I wanted a restaurant with a menu strong in tradition and old world hospitality.”

The Chicago Blackhawks take on Tampa Bay in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final at 6:15 p.m. Saturday on NBC 5.
