Hotter Weather Headed Our Way

Despite evidence suggesting otherwise, it is still summer in Chicago, and warmer weather is headed our way to prove it.

After a week of comfortable but below-average temperatures, highs will begin to creep into the 80s over the weekend, with a high of 80 and 82 expected on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Significant heat will arrive by the beginning of next week, with highs of 84 expected on Monday, 86 on Tuesday and 87 on Wednesday.

Overall it's been a dry August so far, with the area averaging more than an inch less rainfall than usual.

And don't expect to see any of the wet stuff anytime soon, with a high pressure system continuing to keep things dry. Meteorologist Alicia Roman says the next chance for rain appears to be on Thursday.
