A northwest suburban Hoffman Estates man who was reported missing after he attended the Chicago Air and Water Show over the weekend was found dead Monday.
Steven Sanchez, 50, was found in a construction zone east of I-90/94 northbound and just north of I-290, according to Illinois State Police.
Police say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, but they say it is possible Sanchez was thrown from his motorcycle into the construction zone.
Sanchez was last seen at about 8 p.m. Saturday near Burnham Harbor after watching the show and was headed to the northwest suburban Inverness, according to a statement from Hoffman Estates police.
About half an hour later, his motorcycle was discovered abandoned in the Loop near I-290 and I-94 by Illinois State Police, police said. His cellphone was with the motorcycle.
Hoffman Estates police, Chicago Police and Illinois State Police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call (847) 882-1818.
