In this edition of Hawks Headlines, we go through some shameless self-promotion, an interesting look at the tactics of the Chicago Blackhawks, and what one winger’s hair looked like in high school. Welcome to Friday.

- We start out with the self-promotion bit here, as I, blog author James Neveau, am a co-host of a hockey podcast with 670 the Score’s Jay Zawaski. Our third episode is now available on iTunes, and we discuss all sorts of fun stuff, including David Rundblad, Marko Dano, and Teuvo Teravainen. Oh, and ghosts inhabiting the radio studios at Lewis University. [iTunes]

- Fifth Feather always brings great stuff to the mix when it comes to talking Blackhawks, and this piece on the team’s system, and how it could impact Dano’s effectiveness at the NHL level, certainly fits that bill. [Committed Indian]

- Should the Blackhawks be concerned with their lack of scoring (they’ve now gone nearly four full games without scoring a goal during 5-on-5 play)? They certainly aren’t acting like it. [Chicago Tribune]

- Andrew Shaw is known as the “mutt” by Blackhawks fans, but there’s nothing mangy about his hairstyle when he was a young man. [Second City Hockey]

- The Blackhawks are obviously good at hockey, having won three Stanley Cup championships in the past six seasons, but are they good at emoji quizzes? A hint: no. [USA Today]

- Finally, Marian Hossa and his wife are raising awareness and funds for Ivanka Danisova, a 27-year-old from Slovakia that is afflicted with Goldenhar syndrome. Hossa is trying to raise money to help pay for a surgery for Danisova, and the bill is going to exceed $100,000. [Daily Herald]
