USA championships for rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline on Wednesday kick off a week of gymnastic trials.
Local Olympic hopeful Michael Devine, of Winnebago, Ill., will compete Wednesday for the lone men's trampolinist spot on Team USA at the championship finals.
The event serves as the third of three events to determine the man and woman who will represent Team USA in trampoline at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Other local gymnasts to watch during the trials week are: David Sender, of Arlington Heights; C.J. Maestas, a freshman at the University of Illinois; Alex Buscaglia, of Cary; Michael Devine, of Winnebago, Ill.; Bridget Sloan, Pittsboro, Ind.; Jordyn Wieber, of Dewitt, Mich.; Rebecca Bross, of Ann Arbor Mich.; and Sam Mikilak, Ann Arbor, Mich.
U.S. Olympic trials for gymnastics begin Thursday and last through July 1.
