Macy's Coming to Gurnee Mills

New full-price wing at Gurnee Mills to include Macy's as the anchor store

Gurnee Mills shoppers soon can add Macy’s to their list of outlet mall stops.

The mall announced Monday a 140,000 square-foot, full-line Macy’s will be added in the spring of 2013, employing about 200 people. It will be the anchor of a new Gurnee Mills wing expected to include several new full-price stores.

“The addition of Macy’s ... creates a true hybrid destination with a combination of full-price, outlet and value retail selections,” said Gurnee Mills president Gregg Goodman in a statement.

More than 200 outlet stores make up Gurnee Mills, including Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Guess Factory Store and Banana Republic Factory Store.

“We look forward to opening at Gurnee Mills, which has been a powerful destination in the market for many years,” said Ron Klein, Macy’s chief stores officer, in a statement.
