Gurnee Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Girls for Years

North suburban business owner charged with 20 counts of criminal sexual assault

The owner of a north suburban business is behind bars on a $500,000 bond after he was charged with sexually assaulting two girls over a period of 20 years.

Billy W. Moore, 48, of the 1000 block of Rainy Lake Court in Lake Villa was arrested Monday by Lake County Sheriff’s police and charged with 20 counts of criminal sexual assault and 2 counts of aggravated sexual assault, a statement from the sheriff’s office said.

Two women, who are related to Moore, reported that Moore sexually assaulted them over the past 20 years, starting when they were younger than 13, the statement said. The assaults happened in Moore’s home, they told police.

Moore, owner of Gurnee Tire on Grand Avenue in Gurnee, was ordered held on the Lake County Jail on $500,000 bond, police said. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 21.
