Gunman Robs Oak Lawn Bank

Robber masked his face with some kind of dark clothing

A man whose face was masked by dark clothing robbed an Oak Lawn bank branch Friday.

The man walked into the Chase Bank branch at 10639 S. Cicero in Oak Lawn, showed a teller a handgun and demanded cash, according to the FBI.

The man was described as white, but his head and most of his face was covered. He was about 5-foot-9 to 6-feet-tall, with a medium build and wore dark clothing, except for blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone who might have information on this robbery is asked to contact the Chicago FBI office, at (312) 421-6700. There is a reward for information leading to this bank robber.

There have been at least 43 bank robberies in the Chicago area this year. In 2011 there were a total of 115 bank robberies in the Chicago metropolitan area.
