The former Soviet leader will be in Elgin this spring

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev will speak in Elgin this spring.

Gorbachev will be the keynote speaker at Judson University's World Leaders Forum. He led the former Soviet Union from 1985 to 1991, and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990.

Gorbachev will talk about his time working with the late U.S. President Ronald Reagan in a presentation titled "Leadership Insights: My Time with Ronald Reagan." He will take questions afterward. There also is a VIP event where attendees will receive an autographed photo and book.

The forum will take place April 21. Gorbachev will give a second speech the same day for Judson University students, faculty, staff and alumni.
