Alert Issued After String of Glencoe Robberies

Three robberies occurred since Dec. 20, police said

The Glencoe Department of Public Safety issued a community alert in response to an increasing number of area home burglaries.

The incidents, which took place in the 400 block of Adams Avenue, the 400 block of Woodlawn Avenue, and the 300 block of Adams Avenue, have occurred since Dec. 20, police said.

The alert advises residents to take precautions -- lock your doors and windows, turn on an alarm system, leave lights on at night -- to help prevent burglaries.

The public safety department also offers a vacation house-watch program for residents who are out of town. To have an officer review your home for security risks, residents can contact the department at 847-835-4112.
