Gary Plans 4-Day Michael Jackson Birthday

Activities at the former Jackson home are free, tickets needed for stadium events

Gary, Indiana continues to keep the memory of Michael Jackson alive.

The city where Jackson grew up, will honor the King of Pop all weekend during an event called "Remembering Michael J. Jackson, The Legend's Weekend", celebrating what would have been his 53rd birthday.

Jackson died on June 25, 2009 at his home in California.

The gala will kick off at the Jackson family's former home, at 2300 Jackson St., and the city will also hold events at the Leonard Douglas Stadium at Roosevelt High School.

It will feature musical performances, a circus, food and vendors.

The festivities in front of the old Jackson home are free, but tickets for the concerts and circus at the Leonard Douglas Stadium are $23 for adults and $12 for children.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from the event will go to help the city of Gary.
