Fire Erupts in West Side Condo

Dozens of residents were forced out of the building

A fire broke out in a West Side building early Friday morning, forcing residents out to the street.

Flames were shooting up through the roof when firefighters arrived at the building, in the 500 block of North Noble Street, at around 2:30 a.m.

"I was just woken up with a loud bang on my door just saying the building was on fire," said Heather O'Connor, who lives next to the building.

"It was scary," added Carla, another neighbor.

Officials said the blaze started on the fourth floor and spread to the roof of the building.

No injuries have been reported. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
