Riders Stuck for Hours After Ferris Wheel Breaks Down

There were some scary moments on Saturday for a group of fair-goers at a street party in Racine, Wis.

A Ferris wheel broke down in strong winds, stranding 17 people on the ride.

Firefighters took almost three hours to rescue everyone, including many young children.

A Racine fire captain told a Milwaukee TV station that rescuers were concerned the strong winds could blow the Ferris wheel "one way or the other."  Heavy equipment was moved in to brace the wheel while crews got everyone off.

No one was hurt, just a little shaken up.
