“Ferris Bueller's Day Off” Picked As Most Famous Movie Set in Illinois

Director John Hughes has helped bring a lot of attention to Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. So much so, one of his classics has been named the most famous movie set in Illinois.

“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” made Business Insider’s list of most memorable movies from each state. In the film best friends Ferris, Sloane, and Cam skip school to experience the sights and sounds of Chicago.

The iconic movie takes audience members throughout some of the city’s most famous landmarks, from the Art Institute to Wrigley Field.
