Felony Franks Owner Wants to Reopen Shop

Owner has three possible locations in mind

Good news for Felony Franks fans: It may make a comeback.

Jim Andrews owned the West Side hot dog stand at 229 S. Western since 2009, but after a long legal battle over the name and criminal theme, he was forced to close the business last week.

Andrews told the Chicago Sun-Times he wants to reopen Felony Franks in a different location and has three possible spots in mind. He said he's also looking to expand his business to include pizza.

Andrews hired ex-offenders to help them get a second start in life. If the shop reopens, he plans to rehire them.

Andrews wouldn’t say where he plans to reopen, but according to the Sun-Times, he won't open in the 2nd Ward. Ald. Bob Fioretti tried to block the business because he felt the name sent the wrong message to students.
