FBI: No Confirmed Sightings Of Chicago Jail Escapee

Kenneth Conley escaped with cellmate and fellow bank robber Joseph Banks on Dec. 18

UPDATE: Authorities Re-Capture Second Jail Escapee

The FBI says there have been no confirmed sightings of a convicted bank robber more than two weeks after he climbed out of a high-rise jail in downtown Chicago on a rope made of bed sheets.

Special Agent Joan Hyde says the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service are looking for Kenneth Conley nationwide but haven't had any verified sightings.

Conley escaped with cellmate and fellow bank robber Joseph Banks on Dec. 18. They broke a large hole into the bottom of a window at the Metropolitan Correctional Center and used bed sheets to climb about 20 stories to the ground. Banks was recaptured two days later in Chicago.

Hyde says Conley's history of travel, the passage of time and ties to the southeast raise the possibility he's left the area.
