Woman Killed in Overnight Englewood Crash

Police suspect alcohol played a major role

An overnight car crash in Englewood left one woman dead and three others injured.

A 24-year-old man driving a Pontiac Grand Am crashed into an oncoming Grand Prix on the 7000 block of Halsted Street around 2:10 a.m. Friday, according to Chicago Tribune. A woman in her 20s was killed while riding in the passenger seat of the Grand Prix.

The man is in fair condition at Stroger Hospital, according to the Tribune.

The 28-year-old woman driving the Grand Prix was in serious-to-critical condition at Stroger Hospital. Another passenger was in critical condition.

Police suspect alcohol played a role in the crash. No charges have been filed.

The Department of Major Accident Unit is investigating the crash scene.
