Emanuel and Garcia Engage in Final Debate Before Vote

The final debate in the Chicago mayoral race between incumbent Rahm Emanuel and challenger Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia was a heated one.

The two men clashed Tuesday on everything, from Emanuel's stewardship of the city's finances to noise caused by planes using O'Hare International Airport.

The debate occurred in the wake of a poll showing Emanuel has doubled his lead over Garcia in recent three weeks.

Emanuel was forced into a runoff with Garcia after failing to get more than 50 percent of the vote in the Feb. 24 primary. Since then, he has run television ads attacking Garcia.

The debate almost immediately became heated as Garcia questioning the veracity of the city's finances. Saying they have never been independently audited. Emanuel contended Garcia doesn't have the skill to manage the city's finances.
