East Dundee Wants to Get Rid of Warring Neighbors

Village president says he's ready to kick them out of town

Two neighbors in the suburban village of East Dundee have been feuding for so long the village president now says he's ready to kick them out of town.

Ex-Village President Dan O'Leary and his wife, Julie, have been in a four-year dispute over various property issues with next door neighbor Patrick Clarke and his wife, Allison.

The Daily Herald reports the couples appeared before the village board Monday in a dispute over 16,000 square-feet of village property O'Leary maintains and wants.

The Clarks say the land should remain public and threaten a lawsuit if the village gives O'Leary the land.

A vote on the property will take place next Monday.

Village President Jerald Bartels says he's had enough and is ready to de-annex both families.
