Basketball superstar Dwayne Wade has plans to raise money to send kids from underserved communities in Chicago to partake in the international event known as March for Our Lives.

In light of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting that killed 17 people in Parkland, Florida, activists are echoing the words "never again" and demanding action, organizing events to spread awareness and increase gun control.

“Enough is Enough!” Wade tweeted. “On March 24th, students across the country will be in DC and in their local cities to #MarchForOurLives.”

The Chicago native tweeted Saturday afternoon that he spoke to Oklahoma City Thunder player Carmelo Anthony because they “both come from communities where gun violence is an everyday occurrence,” he said.

Wade is using his social media platform to reach out to his NBA family to join him in raising money so that kids from his hometown can take to the streets to “demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence in our schools and communities,” reads the event page.

Wade said he and his wife Gabrielle Union already got the ball rolling, starting with a $200K donation.

“Every dollar counts! Who else is in??” he tweeted.
