Drew Peterson Moved to Pontiac Prison

Inmate M35067 will serve his 38-year sentence in the maximum-security Pontiac Correctional Center for murdering his third wife.

Prison officials confirmed Monday that Drew Peterson was moved to the prison about 100 miles southwest of Chicago after being processed at the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill on Friday.

The ex-suburban police officer was sentenced last week for murdering Kathleen Savio in 2004. He's a suspect in the 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

The 59-year-old Peterson's projected parole date is May 7, 2047, when he'd be 93.

He could get extra security because he's an ex-cop, potentially making him a target for other inmates.

Peterson told his lawyers he was looking forward to leaving Will County, where he was prosecuted. The Pontiac prison is in Livingston County.
