Your lovable pooch may take delight in his buried treasures, but you may want to check just what kind of bones he's burying out there.
A Logan Square man called police on Wednesday night after his dog brought home what appeared to be a human knee bone, reports the Sun-Times.
Was it connected to the thigh bone? Which was connected to the backbone? Oh dear!
Police examined the grounds of the abandoned the house next door, where the dog found the bone. There, officers found a similar bone on a path that leads from the house to the alley. The building's yard is overgrown with weeds, according to the Sun-Times.
Police say both of the bones appear to be human knee joints, but a spokesperson from the Medical Examiner's Office said they will be examined later today.
